Problem

Troubleshooting Guide

Cause
Fuel tap switched off.
Fuel shortage.
Fuel line blocked.
Air vents in lter cap blocked.
Air cleaner blocked.
Engine malfunctions.
Low engine oil (Petrol only).
Insuf cient oil in hydraulic tank (Petrol only). Top up to correct level (Refer to Technical Data Section)
Engine Ignition switch or connecting wires
damaged (Petrol units only).
Hydraulic tank oat switch wires damaged
(Petrol units only).
Hydraulic pump seized.
Bypass lever is in the 'BYPASS' position.
Relief valve set low or worn.
Pump worn or damaged.
Engine power low.
Radiator ns blocked.
Oil cooler fan damaged.
Hydraulic pump worn or damaged.
Relief valve set low or worn.
Hydraulic oil contaminated.
P.O.D. Cylinder seized in retracted position.
P.O.D. Cable adjustment
Throttle lever incorrectly set at low speed.
P.O.D. Cylinder seized in extended position. Check cylinder and replace as necessary.
P.O.D. Cable adjustment incorrect.
Remedy
Switch on fuel tap.
Refuel.
Clean lters/pipes.
Clean.
Clean or renew element. Refer to engine manual.
Refer to engine manual.
Top up to correct level. Refer to engine manual for
correct grade.
Check for earth leak, and renew worn or damaged parts.
Renew worn or damaged parts.
Renew pump.
Set to 'FLOW'.
Check relief valve setting and adjust.
Check system oil ow. Renew pump as necessary.
Refer to engine manual.
Clean using air blast.
Tighten or renew as necessary
Renew pump.
Check setting and renew as necessary.
Drain oil tank and transmission hoses and replenish with
clean oil. Replace lters.
Check the cylinder and replace as necessary
Re-adjust as necessary.
Reset engine speed and lock throttle lever.
Re-adjust as necessary.
