Important information to be observed before operation

You have purchased a high quality RIESTER product, which has been manufactured according to the Directive 93/42/EEC and is sub-
ject to the strictest quality controls at all times.
These Instructions for Use describe the use of the Cold-light Projector HL 150 and its accessories.
Please read these Instructions for Use carefully before putting the unit into operation and keep them in a safe place.
If you should have any questions, your responsible RIESTER product representative will be available to answer queries at any time, or
contact us directly. Our address can be found on the last page of these Instructions for Use. The address of our sales
representative will be provided upon request.
Please note that the instrument described in these Instructions for Use is only to be used by suitably trained personnel.
The user should ensure that the instrument is working safely and is in good condition before use.
Furthermore, please note that the perfect and safe functioning of our products is only guaranteed when both the products as well as the
accessories used are from Riester.

Intended use
The cold-light projector described in these Instructions for Use has been manufactured to provide light for headlights.
Information on electromagnetic compatibility:
There are currently no indications that electromagnetic interactions with other devices can arise when the instruments are used as inten-
ded. However, under the increased influence of unfavourable field strengths, e.g. during the operation of wireless telephones or radio-
logical instruments, it may not be possible to exclude disturbance completely.

Setting up the instrument

Unpacking / Basic configuration
Remove the instrument and its accessories carefully from the packaging.
Check that everything is complete and for any possible damage during transport.
If the shipment is damaged, please contact us or your supplier.
The product supplied contains the following equipment:
Light source
Mains cable
Operating instructions
Safety precautions at the place of installation
Only place the instrument on surfaces which are protected from tilting.
Only use the instrument in rooms equipped according to nationally valid norms.
The plug-in device for compensating the potential should be attached accordingly. Only use the mains cable supplied for connecting to
the mains supply.
The plug should only be used in an earthed contact electrical socket.
It is prohibited to use the instrument in areas where there is an explosive hazard.

Description of instrument

The light source you have purchased is fitted with a 150 W output halogen lamp.
The light intensity of the instrument makes it suitable for almost all endoscopic applications.
Built-in soft-start electronics protect the lamp from high surges of current when turning it on and off and thus prolong the service life of
the lamp.
A built-in mechanical diaphragm, which is operated via a knob, serves to adjust the light output without influencing the colour tempera-
ture. The instrument has been designed taking the latest insights on the safety of medical devices into account and satisfies the
requirements according to CE.
