INSTRUCTIONS FOR PORTABLE TORQUE MONITOR TAA1000
Read and understand "Safety Instructions For Air Tools" and these instructions before operating this tool.
The TAA1000 is designed primarily to address the application of checking the torque output of power tools for assembly. It is also
well suited, when used with electronic torque wrenches, to performing auditing functions. The TAA1000 allows operators to easily
adjust the power tool and quality inspectors to monitor and record in-process tool performance on the assembly line.
Using a quality torque analyzer has become increasingly important for many companies to ensure that proper torque is being
applied and provides gage requirements associated with the ISO 9002 Quality Standard.

The TAA1000 is delivered with a special 12 vdc battery charger (P/N 321C 120V OR 3217B 240V).
This device will charge the unit in an hour or less and maintain a full charge while plugged in for an
indefinite period of time with no fear of overcharge due to the internal circuit of the TAA1000 that will
go into "maintain" mode upon reaching full charge.
On the face panel of the TAA1000, a battery indicator lamp will illuminate whenever the charger is
plugged in. RED indicates that the battery is charging. GREEN indicates that the battery is fully
charged.
A fully charged battery will allow operation for 100 hours or more. When the battery no longer gives
acceptable run time per charge, the battery (PN 3218) can be replaced by removing the four
front panel screws, carefully removing the front panel assembly and then disconnecting the two
wires from the battery terminals. Replace the battery by reversing the process.
While the TAA1000 is designed to be used with the NCRT series of non-contact, pulse tool rated rotary transducers, it will also
accommodate any Industry Standard 2 Mv/v strain gage type transducer such as those supplied by GSE, CRANE Electronics,
LEBOW, Atlas Copco and MOUNTZ.
Torque wrenches commonly used for residual torque audits are also capable of being used with the TAA1000. Virtually any load
cell based on 2 Mv/v using the four or six pin standard pin-out will work with the TAA1000.
