EXISTING CONSTRUCTION ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
2. Measure the opening to ensure it is large
enough to accommodate the new fan housing
(A) (7-1/2 in. x 7-1/4 in.).
3. If this fan is not replacing an old fan, be sure
to cut a 7-1/2 in. x 7-1/4 in. opening for the
fan housing (A).
4. Place the fan housing next to a ceiling joist or
wall stud. The fan housing should be level and
perpendicular to the joist or stud. Allow for thick-
ness of ceiling board used in your application.
DO NOT flush mount to joist. Bottom of the fan
housing should be flush with ceiling board.
5. Before mounting the fan housing to the joist,
remove the plastic duct connector for easier
access to the mounting hole on the fan housing.
Remove the duct connector by inserting a flat
head screw driver between the plastic and metal
of the fan housing, then GENTLY pry the duct
connector off.
