1 Instructions for use – the Air 2000
The Air 2000 aeration pump ensures a constant fl ow of air and prevents a depletion of oxygen in the pond
which would cause your fi sh to die. In the winter, you can use an aeration pump to prevent your pond from
freezing over completely. Because of the opening in the ice, gases that are poisonous for the fi sh and aquatic
plants are able to escape. The Air 2000 is equipped with a double vibration stabiliser and is therefore very
quiet in operation.

Putting into operation

Read these instructions very carefully before putting the pump into operation.
For the installation and use of the Air 2000, we recommend you follow the national and international safety regulations.
Please observe the following instructions when putting the pump into operation:
• Place the pump under cover in a well-ventilated place at a temperature between 0°C and 38°C.
• Place the pump 30 cm higher than the water surface to prevent water from the pond fl owing into the pump
• Keep the inside and outside of the pump dry at all times.
• Make sure that no dirt or oil gets into the pump.
• If the mains lead is faulty it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by a registered service company.
• Make sure that there are no kinks in the air hose and attach it to the aeration pump.
• Attach the effervescent stone to the other end of the hose and place it in the pond.
• Connect the plug to the socket to switch on the aeration pump.
• For best results, you should switch on the aeration pump for 20 minutes every 2 days.
• Take note: Do not place the effervescent stone lower than 30 cm from the bottom of the pond during the winter, in order
to prevent the warmer water at the bottom from cooling down. The pump will need to be switched on 24 hours a day to
prevent the pond from freezing over.
• If the pump is not connected, it should be stored in a dry and dust-free place.
• Before cleaning the unit you must always disconnect the power supply by removing the plug from the socket.
Tip: Using the effervescent stone directly in a fi lter will stimulate the growth of benefi cial bacteria. This enhances the effective
action of the fi lter and the health of the fi sh.

2-year guarantee

This Air 2000 pump comes with a 2-year guarantee from Ubbink for material and manufacturing defects, except parts that are
subject to wear and tear.
The guarantee period commences on the purchase date. In order to qualify for your guarantee, you must submit the
purchase receipt or invoice (with date). Claims under guarantee will be dealt with by the dealer from whom you bought the
pump. Repairs may be carried out only by Ubbink or recognised repairers. Damage as a result of incorrect use, negligence
or inexpert repairs is not covered by the guarantee. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by broken parts or
material, or for any consequential damage to the pond, plants and/or fi sh.
