1 Operating manual for Cascademax® waterfall and stream pumps

Initial operation

- Please read this operating manual carefully.
- Never let the pump run dry.
- Install the pump at a minimum depth of 250 mm and a maximum depth of 1000 mm below the water level on a stable surface that is free from sludge, sand and other
contaminants.

Maintenance and cleaning

The pump does not require lubrication or special maintenance. Just check the inlet slots on the filter housing from time to time for dirt and blockages, cleaning with clean water
where necessary.
If the pump is heavily soiled it must be dismantled:
1. Remove the hose connection with the hose connector and double sleeve.
2. Unscrew the locking ring from the pressure connector (see Fig. 1).
3. Press in the two click fastenings on the upper part of the housing and lift off the upper part (see Figs. 2 and 3). You can now clean the bottom and upper parts of the housing.
4. Undo the pump cover by turning the pump housing sideways (bayonet fitting). Now pull out the rotor from the motor housing (see Figs. 4–6). You can now clean the motor
and the rotor.
5. After cleaning, reassemble the pump in reverse order. Make sure the rotor is correctly installed and properly locked into the recesses in the motor housing.
How often the unit requires this level of cleaning depends on the respective operating conditions and degree of contamination of your pond.
In winter make sure the pump does not freeze up, so ensure you remove the pump from the pond in good time, clean the pump and store it in a frost-proof place, for example in
a bucket of water.
Cleaning/replacing the rotor
- Clean the rotor with a soft cloth. Never use use a chemical cleaning agent.
- To prevent damage, avoid contact with the ceramic drive shaft.
