Safety Guidelines
Forestry Hat
For your own protection please read and thoroughly understand all safety instructions before use.
Keep these instructions with the product for future reference. Ensure all people who use this product
are fully acquainted with these safety instructions. The visor and ear defenders are for adult use only
and do not provide unlimited face and ear protection.
WARNING: The visor and ear protectors are designed for your personal safety and must be worn
for the duration of the exposure to hazards.
Please ensure that visor and ear defenders are appropriate for intended use. Inspect before use to
ensure products are in good condition and are not damaged in any way. Assemble all parts prior to
fitting. Visor and ear defenders may be used in combination or individually. This equipment should
be fitted, adjusted and maintained in accordance with these instructions.
WARNING: If the recommendations given in these instructions are not adhered to, the
protection afforded by this equipment will be severely impaired
The ear defenders are meant for ear protection but are not unbreakable. This mesh visor is meant
for face protection against moderate impact hazards but is not unbreakable. Never alter or modify
the ear defenders and visor. A damaged ear defender reduces protection and should be replaced
immediately. Ear muffs, and in particular cushions, may deteriorate with use and should be
examined at frequent intervals for cracking and leakage for example. The fitting of hygiene covers to
the cushions may affect the acoustic performance of the ear muffs.
It is the responsibility of the user to acquaint themselves with the hazards to be encountered and
select the correct level of ear protection for use in the hazardous area. A damaged visor reduces both
protection and vision and should be replaced immediately. This visor does not have any filtering
action and does not protect against molten metal splash, hot solids or electrical hazards.
The materials which come into contact with skin may cause allergic reactions to susceptible
individuals. If a reaction occurs, leave the area and remove the visor and seek medical advice.
This product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances. Further information should
be sought from the manufacturer.
WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions and warnings on the use of this item during all
times of exposure can reduce its effectiveness and could result in illness or disability.
WARNING: The mesh eye and face protector does not protect against liquid splash (including
molten metal), hot solids, electrical hazards, infrared and ultra violet radiation. This mesh visor does
not have any filtering action.
Attenuation Values
The single number rating (SNR) gives an end attenuation value across the whole frequency range.
If you need specific attenuation for a frequency range, see the chart below. A general attenuation
figure is given below the chart for low, medium and high frequencies.

6. The forestry hat is now assembled (Images L & M) but adjustments must be made to ensure

• Adjustments to the top of the head strap are made prior to wearing (Image J). Correctly adjusted
• The strap adjuster that sits on the rear of the head can be adjusted while fitted to the head
are of 'medium size range' or 'small size range' or 'large size range' . 'Medium size range' ear muffs
will fit the majority of wearers. 'Small size range' or 'large size range' ear-muffs are designed to fit
wearers for whom 'medium size range' ear muffs are not suitable.
