socket of air intake 7 with an open-end wrench (size
22 mm).
– Loosen hose clamp 14 of supply-air hose 15, mount the
supply-air hose to hose fitting 8 and retighten the hose
clamp.
Note: Always mount the supply-air hose to the pneumatic tool
first, then to the maintenance unit.
Exhaust-air Guidance
With exhaust-air guidance, the exhaust air can be diverted
through an exhaust-air hose away from your workplace, while
at the same time achieving optimal sound-proofing. Addition-
ally, your working conditions are improved, as your workplace
can no longer be contaminated though oil-containing air and
dispersed dust or chips.
Decentralised Exhaust-air Guidance (0 607 561 116)
(see figure C)
– Unscrew the silencer at air outlet 9 and replace it with a
hose fitting 8.
– Loosen hose clamp 14 of the exhaust-air hose 16, mount
the exhaust-air hose to hose fitting 8 and retighten the
hose clamp.
Centralised Exhaust-air Guidance (0 607 561 118)
(see figure D)
– Work the exhaust-air hose (centralised) 17, which con-
ducts the exhaust air away from your workplace, over the
supply-air hose 15. Then connect the pneumatic tool to
the air supply (see "Connecting the Air Supply", page 18)
and work the exhaust-air hose (centralised) 17 over the
mounted supply-air hose onto the end of the pneumatic
tool.
Operation

Operating Modes

Orbital Action Settings (see figure E)
The four orbital action settings allow for optimal adaptation of
cutting speed, cutting capacity and cutting pattern to the ma-
terial being sawed.
The orbital action can be adjusted with the adjusting lever 11,
even during operation.
Setting 0
No orbital action
Setting I
Small orbital action
Setting II
Medium orbital action
Setting III
Large orbital action
The optimal orbital action setting for the respective applica-
tion can be determined through practical testing. The follow-
ing recommendations apply:
– Select a lower orbital action setting (or switch it off) for a
finer and cleaner cutting edge.
– For thin materials such as sheet metal, switch the orbital
action off.
– For hard materials such as steel, work with low orbital ac-
tion.
– For soft materials and when sawing in the direction of the
grain, work with maximum orbital action.
Bosch Power Tools
Adjusting the Cutting Angle (see figure F)
The base plate 12 can be swivelled by 45° to the left or right
for mitre cuts.
– Loosen the screw 20 with the Allen key 10 and slide the
base plate 12 slightly towards the saw blade 1.
– For adjustment of precise mitre angles, the base plate has
adjustment notches on the left and right at 0° and 45°.
Swivel the base plate 12 to the desired position according
to the scale 19. Other mitre angles can be adjusted using a
protractor.
– Then slide the base plate 12 all the way towards the motor.
– Tighten the screw 20 again.
The splinter guard 27 can not be inserted for mitre cuts.
Offsetting the Base Plate (see figure G)
For sawing close to edges, the base plate 12 can be offset to
the rear.
– Completely unscrew the screw 20 using the Allen key 10.
– Take the base plate 12 off and remount it offset again so
that the screw 20 can be screwed into the rear bolt hole
22.
– Push the base plate 12 toward the positioning pin/mark 18
until it engages. Now, tighten the screw 20 again.
Sawing with the base plate 12 offset is possible only with a mi-
tre angle of 0°. In addition, the parallel guide with circle cutter
23 (accessory) as well as the splinter guard 27 may not be
used.
Moving the Guide Handle (see figure H)
– For easier sawing in particularly tight locations, the rotata-
ble top handle 5 can be dismounted. For this, press the or-
ange pushbutton beyond the latching point and pull off the
rotatable top handle upward at the same time.
– Before assembling the rotatable top handle 5, push up the
orange pushbutton back into the starting position again.
Attach the rotatable top handle 5 and press downward un-
til it can be felt to engage.

Starting Operation

The pneumatic tool works optimally at a working pressure of
6.3 bar (91 psi), measured at the air inlet when the pneumat-
ic tool is switched on.
To save energy, only switch the pneumatic tool on when you
are using it.
Switching On and Off (0 607 561 116)
– To switch on the pneumatic tool, press the On/Off switch
6 and keep it pressed during the working procedure.
– To switch off the machine, release the On/Off switch 6.
Switching On and Off (0 607 561 118)
– To switch on the pneumatic tool, press lever 13 and keep
it pressed during the working procedure.
– To switch off the pneumatic tool, release the lever 13.

Working Advice

 When working small or thin work pieces, always use a
sturdy support or a saw table (accessory).
