i)
Secure the alarm unit by 2 tie raps "5" (picture 2
j)
Mount the fixing bracket
torque of 6 Nm.
Caution
Assure that the bracket hook is inserted correctly into the motorcycles counterpart.
k)
Route the alarm harness to the under seat area (picture 2 and 3 for VZ800L0-) (picture 2 and 4 for
VL800K9-).
l)
Remove the original OE-jumper of the 4-pin alarm connector (picture 3
VL800K9-) and connect the plug&play harness counterpart.
m)
Connect the 1-pin connector (picture 3
plug&play harness counterpart.
n)
Identify and disconnect the 6-pin turn indicators connector (picture 3
VL800K9-) and interpose the plug&play harness counterparts.
o)
Place the fuse housing (picture 3
negative battery cable by the tie rap "5".
p)
Clean carefully the LED mounting area at the right lower frame cover with a suitable cleaner (picture 5).
q)
Remove the LED bi-adhesive plastic film and fix it by pressing for a few seconds.
r)
Remount the right lower frame cover and route the LED cable to the 2-pin connector of the plug&play
harness and connect them.
s)
Clean carefully the "ignition key cover" surface with a suitable cleaner.
t)
Glue the protection foil "8" on the "ignition key cover" (picture 6)
u)
Reconnect the negative battery pole.
v)
Remount all in step "a" dismounted parts as mentioned in chapter 6 of the owner's manual. Tighten the rider
seat screws (M6) with 10Nm and pillion seat screw (M8) with 13Nm (only VL800).
3.
System check
a)
To arm the system push once BUTTON 1 of the remote control.
Arming is confirmed by:
2 turn indicators alternated flashing (right-left-right-left)
2 acoustic signals (bleep)
LED turns on (quick flash)
The system is operating after 40 sec. «Standby Time»: the motorbike cannot be started
b)
Move the motorbike to test that the movement sensor is operating
flashing during 30 sec.
c)
At the end of the alarm phase the LED is steady ON.
d)
To disarm the system push BUTTON 1 of the remote control.
Disarming is confirmed by:
1 turn indicators alternated flashing (right-left)
1 acoustic signal
LED gives 1 flash every 5 sec. to confirm an alarm due to a position variation
impulse (ON-OFF) on the ignition key.
e)
To activate the PANIC alarm push once BUTTON 2 of the remote control
indicators are flashing during 30 sec. (to stop this test push or BUTTON 1 or BUTTON 2).
f)
Re-assemble the parts previously removed.
g)
End of installation.
4.
What to be done before delivering the motorbike to its owner
a)
Deliver to the owner the two remotes control together with the metal plate where the releasing emergency
"PIN CODE" is printed and the during installation removed OE-jumper.
b)
Explain to the owner the releasing emergency procedure.
