Your chain saw is equipped with a chain brake guard that is designed to stop the chain if you get a kickback. The
chain brake can be activated by the forward motion of the chain brake guard as the saw rotates backward during
kickback; it can also be activated by the inertial forces generated during rapid push back. The chain brake reduces the
risk of accidents, but only you can prevent them.
