Possible causes of failure and correction
As well as the subscriber output, the multi-switch incorporates 2 LEDs, which assist trou-
bleshooting in the system. The green LED indicates the power supply to the LNB. The red
LED flashes briefly once when the multi-switch has understood a command (such as a
change of transmitter) from the receiver.
Step 1: Check the status of the system
On a new installation there may be a fault in the connection between the LNB and multi-
switch.
If in a multi-subscriber system other receivers operate without problems, the fault is most
probably in the settings of the receiver. For further troubleshooting it may be helpful to
shut down all the other receivers in the system.
Step 2: Ensure the LNB power supply is present
If the message "Poor or no signal" is displayed continuously, first check the power supply
to the LNB. To do this, switch the K-Power Saving rotary switch to "OFF", or if the system
is in ECO mode, plug in a power supply unit. This ensures a continuous power supply.
If reception is now obtained, investigate the following possible faults:
Problem
No reception when
K-Power Saving
"ON"
No reception in
ECO mode without
a power supply unit
Despite K-Power Saving "OFF", still no reception can be obtained:
Problem
Continuous
message "Poor or
no signal"
The correct power supply to the multi-switch receiving the Sat signals should now be
assured, and the green LED should light up. If still no reception can be obtained, the fault
may lie within the receiver and/or the connection to the multi-switch.
