SETTING UP THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS
Satellite speakers (A): The speakers should be positioned to the left and right of the TV. They should be
the same distance from the screen but no more than 1 m. The stands can be used to set up the satellite
speakers on a flat surface (e.g. sideboard, shelves, etc.) or they can be mounted on the wall by using
the wall bracket."
Subwoofer (B): The subwoofer should be positioned on the floor near the satellite speakers, usually to
the left or right-hand side of the TV. The distance to the screen should not be less than 100 cm for CRT
TVs and 50 cm for flat screen TVs.
Infrared receiver (C): The receiver should be placed near the screen and/or other home cinema
equipment. It can be set up on a flat surface (e.g. sideboard, shelves, etc.) or it can be mounted on the
wall.
Please note: The remote control must be able to communicate freely with the receiver. The receiver
should also be protected from direct sunlight.
Fig. 1 shows you use of the support for the satellites.
Fig. 2 shows the use of the supplied wall mounts for the satellites.
Wall mounting of the IR receiver is illustrated in Fig.3. The mounting screws are not included in delivery.
Important information / safety instructions: The customer is solely responsible for the use of other
wall brackets / speakers attachments. The customer is also solely responsible for the secure attachment
of the speaker bracket to the wall and the selection of suitable mounting material (e.g. screws, wall plugs,
etc.), while taking account of the weight and construction of the speaker and the condition of the wall.
SYSTEM INSTALLATION
The necessary connections for the individual components are illustrated in Fig. 4.
Connecting the satellite speakers to the subwoofer:
The MULTIMEDIA 2100 DIGITAL set comes with prefabricated speaker cables for the two speakers
(2x3m). If possible, use these cables when connecting the speakers. If required, you can shorten and
strip the cables yourself. Please note that both cables for the satellite speakers should be the same
length. If you need longer cables, do not extend the cables supplied, but purchase new, equivalent cables
in the desired length from a specialised store.
The connectors are located at the rear of the satellite speakers. They are equipped with a clamping
mechanism. Press the top of the terminals and insert the stripped ends of the cable into the side holes.
The speaker outputs (1) on the subwoofer are equipped with terminal screws; undo these screws one
after the other and insert the stripped ends of the cable into the side openings. Then re-tighten the ter-
minal screws. Please ensure that any protruding wires do not cause a short circuit. Make sure you pay
attention to the correct polarity.
Connecting the infrared receiver to the subwoofer:
The infrared receiver is equipped with a 5 metre long connecting cable. This cable should not be
shortened or extended. Connect the cable connector to the subwoofer via the IR sensor jack (5).
Connecting a TV to audio input LINE IN 1:
Use the supplied audio cable (H) and connect the audio output on your TV to audio input LINE IN 1 (3).
If your TV has an audio output with fixed level, this is preferable to the audio output with variable level.
Switching off the speakers on your TV: In order to achieve an optimum sound experience the integrated
speakers in your TV must be switched off. In general, this can be done as follows:
1. Via a switch on the back of the TV
2. Via the TV's setup menu
3. By using the remote control to set the TV volume to a minimum.
