Contact grill
Grease the grill plates slightly with some oil.
Close the lid.
Connect the appliance to the current. Please note that the appliance has two thermostat
controls and two control lamps - one for each grillplate. You can use one only ore both at
the same time. Switch the temperature control(s) clockwise to maximum heat position
(+ symbol).The control lamp(s) will illuminate.
Please note that the unit must be heated up, before you put the food onto the grill plates.
When heated up, open the lid and put your prepared food onto the grill plate.
Caution! To protect the grill plates never use sharp edged or metallic objects, this might
damage the non-stick coating of the plates. Only use wooden or heat resistant plastic spatula.
The duration of the grilling process depends on product, size and weight. See the silk screening
on the appliance for reference. It shows some standard values in minutes for e.g. toast, chicken,
fish, sausage... In the chapter "Grilling time table" you will find more information.
When the food is ready, turn the temperature control to OFF position (- symbol)
and unplug. For safety reason always switch off and unplug after each use!
The grilling time depends on several facts and can vary. Therefore always supervise the
grilling process to adapt to your own needs. On page 29 and 30 you will find further
information.
Thermostat control
The thermostat controls are infinitely variable from minimum up to maximum temperature and
can be used both at a time or just one only. See the arrow marks and the symbols "+" and "-"
at each thermostat control:
+
_
for upper grill plate for lower grill plate
(while folded)
When turning the thermostat control(s) to "+" mark as far as stop position, the unit will heat
up to maximum temperature.
You can vary the temperature also, by turning the thermostat controls into an intermediate
range.
The control lamps will switch off automatically when the heat is reached. Whenever
the unit will heat up again, the control lamps will switch on.
Check the degree of doneness regularly, to avoid scorching. If necessary, reduce
temperature by turning the thermostat little more to the "-" mark (OFF position).
To switch OFF, turn the thermostat control(s) to "-" mark, as far as stop position.
Note: The control lamps must be OFF and BOTH thermostat controls must be turned off
