Insert the measurement unit into the shield. Make sure that the tip of the probe goes into
the pocket inside the teat. (Fig. 1)

Turn the measurement unit 90° clockwise to lock it into position.

Cleaning the flexible-tip thermometer

Do not sterilise or boil the thermometer.
Do not clean the flexible-tip thermometer in the dishwasher, in the microwave or in a microwave
steriliser.
1
Clean the flexible-tip thermometer with a soft damp cloth.

Cleaning the regular soother

Before first use, wash and rinse the soother thoroughly.
Clean the soother before each use.
1
Sterilise or boil the soother.
The soother and cover are suitable for all forms of sterilisation.
Sterilise using an AVENT Steam Steriliser or boil in water for 5 minutes.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or anti-bacterial cleaners. Excessive concentration of detergents
may eventually cause plastic components to crack. Should this occur, replace immediately.
If you use a sterilising solution, follow the instructions on the package. Do not leave the soother in
the sterilising solution for longer than recommended, as this may weaken the teat.
Wash your hands thoroughly and ensure surfaces are clean before contact with sterilised
components.

After sterilisation, let the soother cool down for 5 minutes and squeeze out any trapped
water from the teat. This is to ensure hygiene.

Cleaning the storage box

Do not sterilise the storage box.
1
Wipe the storage box with a damp cloth.
Storage
You can use the storage box to store the soother, the soother thermometer and the flexible-tip
thermometer or to take them with you when you travel.
1
Put the protection caps on the soother, the soother thermometer and the flexible-tip
thermometer after use to keep them clean.

Put the soother, the soother thermometer and the flexible-tip thermometer in the storage
box.

Put the storage box in a safe, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Replacing the battery

Swallowing a button battery is extremely dangerous.
Batteries may explode if exposed to high temperatures or fire.
Never attempt to recharge the battery.
The thermometers have a long-life battery that should last about 2 to 3 years. If the display shows a
battery symbol, the battery is low.
