EXTENDED ADJUSTABLE TEMPERATURE
LIMIT STOP FOR DEEP ROUGH-IN

(This part is 1" longer than the standard adjustable temperature limit stops)

TO INSTALL ADJUSTABLE TEMPERATURE LIMIT STOP
Remove handle assembly per the instructions. Discard the original stop tube. In its place
slide on the 1" extension stop tube with adjustable temperature limit stop. If necessary,
replace existing escutcheon screws with the extension screws furnished.
HANDLE INSTALLATION
(For illustration purposes, handle styles may vary)
1. Position knob handle over stop tube with H/C indicators pointing up.
2. Insert handle screw and tighten securely.
3. Install o-ring onto handle cover as follows:
A. Dip o-ring in soapy water.
CAUTION: Do not use Vaseline or other lubricants.
B. Placing o-ring partially on shoulder of handle cover, press down and upward until a
small loop is formed, then release o-ring against shoulder (see illustration).
NOTE: In order for the o-ring to remain fully seated against the handle cover shoulder,
do not roll or twist o-ring into position.
4. Press handle cover, with o-ring attached into knob opening. Handle installation is complete.
TO ADJUST TEMPERATURE LIMIT STOP
NOTE: Before adjusting make sure hot water supply
is delivering maximum hot water temperature.
1.
Loosen adjustment screw of temperature limit stop slightly so nut & screw slide easily in slot. Move
screw to the 4:00 o 'clock position (illustration A). DO NOT TIGHTEN.
2.
Turn valve cartridge stem to cold position at 2:00 o'clock position. Notched flat on cartridge stem
must be on the top side (illustration B).
3.
Push the stem extension onto the end of the cartridge stem. Make sure to align the "D" shaped hole
on the extension stem with the flat on the cartridge stem.
4.
Reinstall handle knob with its temperature pointer in line with notched flat on stem at 2:00 position
(illustration B). Attach knob to cartridge stem with extension handle screw in kit. Turn valve on by
pulling on knob.
5.
Slowly turn handle knob to left to mix position. When desired maximum temperature of mixed water
is reached, turn valve off by pushing knob in. Carefully remove the handle screw and pull off handle
knob so that cartridge stem does not turn.
6.
Adjustment screw and nut will have moved in slot. Securely tighten screw and nut with hex wrench
furnished in kit.
7.
Reassemble handle parts, handle knob and tighten handle screw securely.

CAUTION — TIPS FOR REMOVAL OF OLD FAUCET: Always turn water supply OFF before removing existing faucet or disassembling the valve. Open faucet handle to
relieve water pressure and ensure that complete water shut-off has been accomplished.
