FM or AM to record from the radio.
tAP to record from the built-in microphone [13].
2. Get the source ready. For CD/AUX, cue playback to
the point that you want to record. For the FM/AM
radio, tune to the station that you want to record.
3. Get the target ready. Load a blank cassette tape into
the Cassette compartment [20]. Optionally, cue the
tape to the point that you want to record to with the
FFWD or REW keys [24, 23].

The exposed magnetic tape of the cassette
should face down.

Take up any slack in the tape before load-
ѥ
ing the cassette into the compartment.
Turn the cassette reel with your finger or a
pencil until the tape is taut.
4. Start recording. When you are ready to record,
press the RECORD key [21] together with the PLAY
key [22]. (For CD/AUX, start playback).

Do not force the Record key down if you
ѥ
detect resistance! If you cannot press the

record button down, the cassette tape may
be record-protected. Refer to the section
"Record Protection" to learn more.
5. Stop recording. Press the STOP/EJ key [25] to stop
recording.

You may also pause recording by pressing
the PAUSE [26] key. Depress the PAUSE key
again to resume recording.

Record Protection

Protect your cassette tape from accidental erasure
with the Record Protection tab.
1. Locate the tab on your cassette tape. It can be found
on the long side of the cassette, opposite the side
with the exposed tape (see the illustration below).
