Description
The magnetic contact and the magnet are mounted parallel to
each other with the aid of the surface-mounted or flush-
mounted housing. When inserting the contact housing, please
ensure that the labeling stud on the front is
pointing toward the magnet, regardless of the type of
installation.
The installation distance between the contact and the magnet
must be within the tolerance zone (see distance diagram).
During installation within the tolerance zone, the switching
distances for each contact must first be individually determined
(see distances diagram).
Caution:
Installation on ferromagnetic materials is only
permissible if the contact and magnet housing are each fitted
with a 2 mm base.
Surface-mounted or flush-mounted parts must only be
mounted using screws made of non-magnetic material. When
the installation is completed, the electrical switch function of
the magnetic contact must be checked (e.g. with a continuity
checker or multimeter). Use of mechanical force, e.g., when
installing on the housing, can damage the glass body of the
reed switches.
The covers are then clipped onto the
surface-mounted housing. The covers can
be reopened with a small screwdriver
(max. 3 mm) without incurring any
damage. To do this, press in the small
snap-fit hook
(A) on the front using the screwdriver. In
accordance with VdS, unauthorized opening must be made
detectable by placing the VdS seal sticker (Fig. 1) on the snap-
fit hook.

Caution:
Measure the supply lines electrically before
connecting them!
Distance Diagram
See Figure 3.
Note:
When installing the devices on ferromagnetic materials,
the contact and magnet housing must each be fitted with a 2
mm base.
