4.2 Safety instructions
Danger
Risk of death!
Incorrect attachment of the seat pad can prevent or distort deployment of the seat airbag in the event of a
vehicle collision.
→ Use the seat pad only in such a manner that the seat airbag is not covered or its function impaired. If you
have questions about the seat airbag, please read your vehicle owner's manual or ask at your dealer workshop.
→ Reposition the seat pad when it is shifted out of place. If this is not possible due to deformation or wear,
remove the seat pad completely from the vehicle.
Warning
Risk of electric shock!
Faulty electrical installation or excessive voltage can lead to an electrical shock.
→ Only connect the seat pad to a 12V vehicle power socket (cigarette lighter).
→ Ensure that the 12 V vehicle power socket is always readily accessible so that you can quickly disconnect the
seat pad connection cable in the event of a fault.
→ Do not operate the seat pad if it has visible damage or if the connection cable or the 12V plug is defective.
→ If the connection cable of the seat pad is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its customer
service agent or by a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards.
→ Do not open up the seat pad yourself, but have any repair carried out by qualified personnel. Please cont-
act a specialist workshop for such work. All liability and claims against warranty are excluded, in the event of
independent repairs, improper connection or incorrect operation.
→ Only parts which correspond to the original device specifications may be used for repairs. This seat pad in-
corporates electrical and mechanical parts, which are indispensable for protection against potential hazards.
→ Do not immerse the seat pad, or the connection cable or plugs into water or other liquids.
→ Never touch the 12V plug with wet hands.
→ Never pull the 12V plug out of the 12V power supply socket by the cable, but always grip and pull the plug directly.
→ Never use the connection cable as a carrying handle.
→ Keep the seat pad, as well as the 12V plug and the connection cable, away from naked flames and hot surfaces.
→ Do not kink the connection cable or place it over sharp edges.
→ Only use the seat pad inside the vehicle.
→ Never operate it while exposed to rain.
→ Make sure that children do not poke or insert any objects into the seat pad.
→ When you are not using the seat pad, or if you clean it, or if a fault occurs, always turn off the seat pad and
pull out the 12V plug from the 12V power supply socket.
→ Disconnect the connection cable from the 12V power supply socket every time before cleaning and care,
or after use.
Warning
Risks for children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities (e.g. partially disa-
bled persons, elderly persons with limited physical and mental abilities) or lack of experience and
knowledge (e.g. older children).
→ Children younger than 3 years old are not allowed to use the seat pad, under any circumstances, as they
are unable to react to overheating.
→ Children older than 3 years are allowed to use the seat pad only if a parent or supervisor has preset the con-
trol element or the child has been adequately instructed on how it can operate the regulator/control unit safely.
→ This seat pad can be used by children over 8 years of age, as well as by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge when supervised or instructed regarding the
safe use of the seat pad and the resulting hazards. Children must not play with the seat pad. Cleaning and
maintenance by the user must not be carried out by children without supervision.
→ Do not leave the seat pad unattended during operation.
→ Do not allow children to play with the packaging film. They can get caught up in film while playing and suffocate.
Warning
Risk of burns!
During use, the seat pad becomes warm.
→ Do not use the heating function when there is direct contact between the skin and the seat pad.
→ Do not use the seat pad for helpless people, small children or for persons who are insensitive to the heat
(e.g. diabetics, people with disease-related skin lesions or areas of scarred skin where the seat pad is directly
used, or after consuming pain-relieving medication or alcohol) and any other persons, who are unable to react
to overheating and need protection.
→ Do not use the seat pad against inflamed, injured or swollen body parts. If in doubt, consult a doctor. Other-
wise, the inflammation, injury or swelling may worsen.
→ Make sure that you or other persons do not fall asleep while the seat pad is in operation.
