Machine Adjustment Procedures
Centering the abrasive belt
The belt centers automatically on starting the motor.
The belt is positioned correctly when:
It runs along the inside of the tensioning unit (A).
It protrudes approximately 2 mm from the sanding drum (B).
When first fitted the belt may be in the wrong position.
In this case use the spanner and proceed as follows:
Turn clockwise (A) to move
the belt towards the outside
Stand beside the machine to check that, following the operation, the belt is positioned correctly.
Adjusting sanding pressure
To vary drum pressure on the floor, use the adjustment knob and proceed as follows:
1.
2.
Turn the adjustment knob (A)

Wall edge castor
A support with a free castor has been fitted to avoid damage to the skirting board or wall when sanding along the wall.
The wall edge castor is correctly positioned when the machine is approximately 8 mm away from the
wall with the castor up against it.
Before starting work, position the castor correctly by loosening the bolt (A),
moving the support to the required position and tightening the bolt (A).
Wheel adjustment
Before sanding check drum operation on the work surface.
The diagram shows the two possible cases:
OK: Drum and wheels are parallel to the surface to be sanded
and the mark left by the drum is the total roller length.
If the drum operation is like in "NO" diagram, the drum and wheels must be positionated parallel to the surface to
be sanded by varying the tilt of complete wheel holder.
Bona Belt UX Manual
NO: The drum does not rest fully on the surface and only
sands at one part, emphasizing marking on the floor.
