Extending Battery Run Time with Sleep and Auto-Off Modes (Cont.)
The Auto-Off mode will completely turn off the system following a lack of activity of
a specified number of minutes. The time selected for the Auto-Off mode should be
consistent with an expected inactive time period that would indicated the start of
an extended non-use period. This non-use period may represent a lunch break,
end of shift, or end of work day for a user.
Note: The Sleep time and Auto-Off time are independent of each other. If the Auto-
Off time is set to less then the Sleep time, the Auto-Off will operate and the Sleep
mode will never be entered.
Battery Protection
The battery system is protected from excessive temperature and current drain by
multiple safety components. These components are not user replaceable. Minor
battery problems may cause an auto-reset fuse to temporarily disconnect the
battery from the system. After a short cool-down period, the auto-reset fuse will
reconnect the battery circuit.
Other battery problems may cause a non auto-reset fuse to burn out. In this case
the problem is likely more serious and no re-connection will occur. Contact an
authorized Ohaus Service Center for repair or replacement.

Battery Replacement

TYPE OR CONNECTED IMPROPERLY.
Eventually the battery will require replacement. Battery life is affected by several
factors. Excessive full cycle charging and elevated temperatures are two factors
that may reduce the total battery life. Contact your local distributor or an Ohaus
Service Representative for additional questions on battery replacement.
To replace the battery, follow the steps listed in the Installation section
disregarding the PC Board and Cable installation sections.
