Battery Charging Summary (Cont.)
• Red blinking segment: Indicates a battery error. No charging will occur.
Contact an authorized Ohaus Service center for repair or replacement.
• No blinking segments after charging: Charging may have completed over 8
hours ago. A short press of the "C" button will show the battery voltage.
Values above 8.1 volts indicate a battery close to full charge.
• No blinking segments, system powered off, AC power connected: The battery
may not require charging. A long press of the "C" button can force a
charge cycle to begin if required.
• The battery can be charged with the system powered on or off, provided the
AC power is connected.
Operating Under Battery Power
With the AC power connected, and the battery option installed, the internal
electronics remains on and the battery voltage is continuously monitored.
During operation, the system will detect when the battery voltage has dropped
below the useful level. At this point, the display will begin to intermittently show a
message of "Lo-bAt". This condition indicates that there is less then 20 minutes
of useful battery run time remaining. (This time will vary significantly depending
on usage.) The battery should be recharged as soon as possible.
Following a display of Lo-bAt", the system will automatically begin charging the
next time the AC plug is connected to a power line.
When using the system away from AC power, ensure that the AC cord does not
rest against the side of the pan. Any object that restricts the free motion of the
pan will affect the weight reading.
Under typical conditions, a full battery charge should provide 10 hours or more of
continuous operation. The actual operating time will be affected by several
factors. The following chart lists typical conditions that may increase or decrease
the battery run time.
