Do not exceed the 8 cups level mark of the cooking bowl when adding
water and rice .

Do not keep small amounts of rice in the Keep Warm cycle for extended
periods of time .

Use the plastic serving spoon provided (or a wooden spoon) to stir and
remove rice . Do not use metal utensils that can scratch the nonstick
cooking bowl .
Using the Steaming Basket (recommended for vegetables and fish)
1 .
Insert cooking bowl into the cooking base then add water to the cooking
bowl, making sure not to exceed maximum water lever and to leave
space between the external base of the steaming basket and the water .
Note: The water should not touch the steaming basket base .

Place food to be steamed in the steaming basket making sure they are not
tight and set the steaming basket inside of the cooking bowl .
3 .
Cover with lid and always keep lid on while steaming .
4 .
Plug power cord into a standard electric outlet . The unit beeps once
and the indicator lights of the Function Selector and the ON/OFF
indicator light flashes red .
5 .
Turn the function selector to Regular Rice (Arroz Normal) .
6 .
Press the ON/OFF button, the unit beeps one more time
and the indicator lights of the selected Function and the ON/OFF
become steady; the steaming cycle begins .
Note: Steaming times vary between vegetables and other food types . Begin
checking for doneness after the initial 5 minutes .
7 .
Once food is ready, use oven gloves to remove lid and steaming basket .
If not ready to serve yet, you can manually turn the function selector
to the Keep Warm mode to maintain food at a serving temperature .
8 .
Unplug the appliance when not in use .
