3. Install the Shower Receptor
IMPORTANT ! Squeaking may develop if the receptor is installed over a subfloor other than plywood or
concrete. To prevent this, place a pad, such as roofing felt, between the receptor and subfloor.
- Install the drain fitting to the receptor and tighten.
- Move the receptor into the framing pocket.
- All of the feet on the shower receptor must contact the floor. You may use concrete, plaster or a similar material to
level the receptor if necessary.
IMPORTANT ! Do not nail through the flange. Secure the receptor by nailing over the edge of the flange at every
framing stud using roofing nails.
NOTE: If you ordered a shower receptor only, refer to Install Wall Finish (For Receptor Only Installations) to
assist you in applying tile or other wall finish. After the wall finish is complete, continue at Step 8 Finish
Installation.
4. Pre-Fit Walls to Shower Receptor
- Place the back wall on the shower receptor, making sure that the back wall tab is engaged in the shower receptor
alignment channel.
- To prevent the back wall from accidently falling, partially pound a roofing nail over the top of the wall flange into
the center of the stud.
- Attach the end walls to the back wall making sure the wall interlock pins are engaged and the end wall tabs are
engaged in the shower receptor alignment channel. Do not nail the walls at this time.
