3.4. Airzone Mechanical Components

3.4.1. Deflector

The deflector is a mechanical element that is present in all the Airzone motorised grilles 100,
150 and 200 high. Its purpose is to equalise the discharge flow rate along the whole
discharge surface of the grille. For further information about its installation and adjustment,
consult the "Deflector Adjustment Guide" provided with this manual.

3.4.2. Security Damper

In systems integrated with a Communications Gateway, in many situations it is not possible
to use the bypass damper. However, there may be situations in which it is necessary to
install a mechanical element that can balance the pressures in the duct (consult the Airzone
Specifications Department).

3.4.3. Bypass Damper

When the connection with the air conditioning units cannot be made by means of
communications gateways, it is necessary to install a bypass damper. Its purpose is to
balance the pressure in the duct in as the zones are closed.

4. INSTALLATION: ASSEMBLY AND CONNECTION

In order to ensure the correct system operation, follow the installation steps specified below.
They are available on the website www.airzone.es/en.

4.1. Assembly and Connection of Flexa System Control Unit

This component should be mounted on a fixed surface and fix its support with four screws
through the holes shown in Fig. 3.
Follow these steps to install the unit:
1) Connect the motorised components to the System Control Unit's motor outputs. These
outputs are labelled as M1, M2, M3, etc. It is advisable to label the cables and take notes
of the connections made, to be used when the corresponding associations are made (e.
g.: M1 – Living room). Respect the polarity (Fig. 4).
2) Connect the System Control Unit to the mains using the J5 connector (Fig. 2).
