IMPORTANT: in case of changing this parameter, check that there is communication in all
the zones, for that do an opening and closing of each zone.
7. CONNECTION TO AC UNITS
There are several ways to connect to the air conditioning/heating machines:
• Stop/Start Connection
• Infrared connection
• Connection through HVAC Communication Gateways
7.1. Stop/Start Connection
See the connection diagrams available at Airzone's web site (http://www.airzone.es/en) for
your equipment's mark and model.
The AC unit must still have its own thermostat control. This control must be permanently
turned on, with the settings for the minimum in the cooling cycle, and the maximum in the
heating cycle, in order to prevent the AC Unit stopping. The Heating – Cooling switching must
be carried out by the Master thermostat and also in the thermostat of the AC Unit.
7.2. Infrared Connection (IR)
If your installation requires an Infrared connection to be made to a machine, please ask your
account manager for this. The accompanying manual specifies the Infrared configuration.
7.3. HVAC Communication Gateway Connection
The Flexa system has a communications port for integrating with the main air conditioning
equipment manufacturers through an Integration Gateway. This gateway allows the
communication to work more efficiently for joint operation. For connecting to the Flexa
system, see the technical documentation for the correspondent gateway.
Generally, the Gateway for Communications with the Air Conditioning Unit enables the
elimination of the bypass damper. Although, occasionally a safety damper may be required,
this element can be installed on either the interior or exterior wall of a fibreglass duct.
