ALIGNMENT

a) Align the socket and the knee as indicated in the knee instructions sheet 1M11299.
b) Remove the knee taking care to keep the previously set alignment.
CAUTION : As later angular adjustments are not possible (they may cause a stop between the knee and the cap), the final
alignment of the prosthesis must be set during trial fitting with the patient before preparing 1M11294.
3) SHAPING THE INTERMEDIATE BLOCK
a) Install the knee on socket 5 equiped with its linking plate 6 by
inserting (as indicated on the diagram) metal plate 4 and in-
termediate block 2, whose upper face has been covered with resin
glue ref.PC232-5. Also apply this resin glue to the lower part of
socket 5, but only on the surfaces of bock 2 and socket 5 that are
opposite to each other. Fix the assembly by screwing screw 7. Take
care to keep the alignment.
c) Install cap 1 under intermediate block 2. Screw the 2 screws 3
in the relevant holes of block 2. Using a pencil or a marking tool
8, draw the outline of cap 1 on intermediate block 2.
b) When the glue is dry, unscrew screw 7 and remove the
knee. Remove also plate 4 (it will be no longer useful).
Lamination thickness
d) Remove cap 1, then shape intermediate block 2 and
socket 5 inside the outline previously drawn. The space left
should correspond to the thickness of the lamination
performed in point e).
