Protection by side walls
Please note that a 1-point suspension swings vigorously, a 3-point suspension considerably less.
All side walls must always be closed when swinging vigorously. Use with the side parts lowered
is only permitted with a 3-point suspension and for children over 3 years of age under adult
supervision.
Danger zone
This depends on the number of suspension points. With 1-point suspension, a clearance of 1m
must be observed around the swing; with a 3-point suspension, 0.5m. This clearance assumes
the swing's maximum potential radius.
A clearance of at least 2 m radius must be maintained, measured from the maximum potential
radius of the swing seat. Please note that the danger zone is considerably larger for a 1-point
suspension than a 3-point suspension. With a 1-point suspension you must always use the
swivel (page 8). Make sure that no other persons, furniture or other dangerous objects are in
the danger zone during use.
Risk due to a hard surface
The ground beneath the swing seat must have shock-absorbing properties (e.g. foam matting or
thick-pile carpet). Caution! Do not set up over concrete or other hard surfaces (e.g. tiles).
Ground clearance
Please observe a minimum distance to the ground of 0.4 m for swinging suspension. This is
necessary to avoid injuring a child who may be lying under the Swing Thing. When used as a
cubby hole cave or play tent, the swing must stand entirely on the ground.
Risk from the wrong fastening materials
We recommend the suspension point to be fastened with three screws,
item number 147497. These and any dowels required must be matched to
the ceiling material. We recommend fastening in suffi ciently strong materials
(e.g. concrete ceilings). Ensure correct dimensioning of the fastening parts.
Consult a specialist. Caution! Use original accessories! We will not be liable
if the wrong fastening materials are used.
Risk from straps
The side parts are opened and closed using straps. These must be inserted into the pockets
provided after each change of the side parts. Close the pockets carefully. The straps can form
dangerous loops. Risk of accident!
Looping
Pay attention to loose straps during transport and when changing the hanging position! These
can become a tripping hazard and/or looping hazard, e.g. around the neck! Risk of accident!
Risk of injury from other causes
The height can be adjusted using the supplied straps. Only adjust the height when the swing
is not in use. Ensure that all straps, from the attachment point in the carabiner to the fastening
on the swing, are the same length.
Risk due to defective parts, maintenance work
Inspect the swing for any damage before every use. Straps, carabiners, fabrics, seams, net and
suspension devices should be checked for wear marks. If there is any visible damage, remove
the swing from use immediately.
Risk due to an open screw carabiner
The supplied carabiners have a screw lock or spring lock. When attaching the carabiners, make
sure that the safety screw is secure. Try to open the carabiner after tightening the safety screw.
If you are unable to, the safety device is active. If there is a spring lock, make sure that the two
carabiner ends are seated correctly. These must lock into each other.
Improper use
The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use, wear parts and consumables.
You can order these by calling 0800 9564956.
