2. Construct the Framing
- Make sure the flooring offers adequate support for your module, and verify that the subfloor is level and square.
- Construct a 2x4 or 2x6 stud recess, plumb and square, according to the roughing in information. Provide double
or triple stud framing around the recess opening.
- If necessary, leave one of the stud recess walls loose until you move the module into position. After the module is
positioned, align the partition wall to the module and secure in place.
- Add any bridging or support needed for extra grab bars or towel bars. Refer to the accessory manufacturer's
instructions.
- Measure and cut the drain hole opening in the floor, and install the rough drain lines. Install the rough plumbing.
Refer to the roughing in information.
3. Prepare the Module
- Install the drain to the module according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Lay out the location of the supply or mixing valve holes on the back of the module.
- Drill a 1/4" (6mm) diameter pilot hole for the fittings at each location marked.
NOTE: For multiple installations - With the supply fittings accurately located during rough plumbing, make a
lightweight plywood template, with pilot holes, to mark the hole locations on the back of each module.
- Refer to the fitting manufacturer's instructions to determine the correct hole sizes. From inside the module
(finished surface), use a hole saw to drill the holes through the module.
- Clean the module thoroughly.
