Pressure-relieving foot orthoses
Purpose
Podo-med foot support orthosis is a made-to-measure therapy shoe for relieving
strain at either the front or back of the foot. The shoes may only be used for foot
treatment.
Indications
• 50030 Forefoot short version
• 50031 Forefoot short versionwith toe guard:
Postoperatively, after forefoot surgery, patients with plantar ulcers, trauma and
fractures.
• 50040 Forefoot long version with protective toe ridge
• 50045 Forefoot long version with insole
• 50047 Forefoot long version with additional guide strap:
Postoperatively, patients with plantar ulcers, trauma and fractures.
• 50050 Open heel version
• 50051 Open heel version with heel cover:
Postoperatively, patients with plantar ulcers, trauma and fractures.
Contraindications
Not suitable for patients whose foot soft tissue does not tolerate extra load.
Side Effects
None reported when applied and worn as intended.
Information for patients
Your doctor or orthotist has prescribed a valuable item of orthopaedic footwear
for you.
In order to benefit from it, and for your own comfort and safety, please
observe the following points before and during use
• All open wounds on the foot must be protected by a bandage.
• We recommend that you are seated whilst putting on and taking off your shoe.
• Always wear a slip resistant shoe on your healthy foot, providing you with equal
heel height.
• Do not attempt to ride a bike, drive a car or other vehicle whilst wearing Podo-
med.
If you are a diabetic patient you should observe the following points when
wearing this product
• Take care to inspect the shoe for possible pressure points several times a day in
order to avoid any skin lesions.
