As long as the individual package of the ACCU-FLO
Reservoir is not opened or damaged, the product
is sterile and nonpyrogenic.
Instructions for Use
A. ACCU-FLO Burr Hole Reservoir, 14 mm
The ACCU-FLO Burr Hole Reservoir fits into a 14 mm
burr hole and is equipped with an inlet tube that is
connected to a ventricular catheter, and an outlet tube
that is connected to a distal catheter.
To flush or check the patency of the ventricular catheter,
occlude the distal catheter with trans cutaneous finger
pressure. Depress the reservoir dome. Release finger
pressure from the distal catheter. Release the reservoir
dome. Repeat rapidly several times to increase the flow of
CSF through the system. Failure of the dome to depress
easily can indicate obstruction of the ventricular catheter.
To inject fluid into the ventricles, occlude the distal
catheter close to the reservoir with trans cutaneous finger
pressure. While the catheter is occluded, inject desired
fluid into the reservoir dome, remove the needle, and
depress the reservoir dome. Release finger pressure
from the distal catheter. Release the reservoir dome.
Repeat the motion of alternately depressing catheter and
reservoir dome rapidly several times to fully inject desired
fluid.
NOTE: Use only a 25-gauge or smaller HUBER-point
needle to puncture the ACCU-FLO Reservoir through the
reservoir dome.
