Installations- and Operating
Instructions for Infrared-Movement
Detector PIR 240
MOUNTING LOCATION FOR THE UNIT
Observe the following in order to achieve the best results:
• Do not mount on vibrating surfaces.
• The motion detector should, ideally, be located 2.5 to 3 metres
above the area to be monitored (see Fig.. 1A).
• Do not aim the sensor at the sun.
• To prevent false alarms, install the motion detector at some dis-
tance from heat sources such as air conditioners, other lights, run-
ning cars and exhaust vents.
• To prevent false alarms, keep the sensor away from strong sources
of electromagnetic disruption.
• Do not aim the sensor at reflective surfaces, such as smooth, white
walls, swimming pools, etc.
• The motion detector's monitoring area can vary slightly depending
on the mounting height and mounting location, as well as on the
ambient temperature. Before choosing an installing location for
your motion detector, please note that the sensor reacts with
greater sensitivity to movements across the monitored area (see
Fig.. 1B) than movements directly toward the sensor or away from
the sensor (see Fig. 1C).
