Operation
"ELECTRIC" LED: when lit indicates an electrical fault.
"HYDRAULIC" LED: when lit, indicates a hydraulic fault
[DRY RUN]. If both ELECTRIC and HYDRAULIC LED's
are lit, operator intervention is required.
"AUTO-RESET" LED: indicates the pump is in AUTO-
RESET mode - will reset [DRY RUN] alarm ONLY.
LCD display presents two lines of information,
as described below. The LCD is backlit and will
automatically turn off after a preset time. Pressing any
control panel button will 'wake up' the LCD.
NOTICE: Direct exposure of the LCD display to
sunlight is not recommended. If the display temperature
rises above 150°F (65°C), the display will blank. All
programmed booster functions will continue to operate,
however. Display information will reappear after its
temperature drops sufficiently.
Initial Operation
To start the pump the first time after installation has
been completed:
1. Plug the pump into the outlet.
2. The preset pressure is 60 PSI. To change the pressure
setting, press SET (even while the pump is operating)
until the desired pressure is displayed.
3. Press the " " button to start the pump. The 'LINE'
LED will become green and a bar graph shows
power usage.
4. The " " button is also used to stop the pump,
if necessary
The pump will start and will continue to operate until
several seconds after the system pressure has risen and
flow has stopped (water demand ceases). The pump
may not operate if there is no water demand, so open
a nearby faucet to create the demand if you wish to
test the booster. It may also not operate if the discharge
pressure is equal to or greater than the selected pressure
value - pump will go into standby mode.
NOTICE: This pump is NOT self-priming – it requires a
minimal flow of water at the pump inlet to operate. This
pump is intended for booster applications only.
Automatic Operation
The control board monitors discharge port pressure.
Should that pressure descend below the selected
value when a water demand occurs, the pump starts
automatically pumping water to the selected pressure.
Shortly after the water demand ceases, the pump
turns off.
AUTO-RESET mode
The AUTO-RESET mode is factory set to the ON
condition, which means that if the pump stops when a
[DRY RUN] condition occurs, it will automatically begin
running when the condition is corrected.
For parts or assistance, call Simer Customer Service at 1-800-468-7867
To turn AUTO-RESET mode OFF:
1. Plug the pump into the outlet.
2. Press the RESET button. The AUTO-RESET LED
turns OFF.
While in AUTO-RESET mode and the pump stops due to
lack of inlet water, this sequence is followed:
1. The pump will attempt to restart after 1 minute.
2. If a lack of water continues to be detected or if
an electrical fault has been detected, the pump
will stop.
3. A new restart attempt will happen after 10 minutes,
and then, respectively after 30, 60, and 120 minutes.
4. After the fifth consecutive attempt, the pump is
deactivated, the "LINE" LED turns off and [DRY RUN]
is displayed..
If the pump is deactivated (LINE LED off), investigate
the cause of the problem (lack of water or electrical
problem), resolve the problem, and perform a manual
reset. See Troubleshooting.
Manual Reset
If either alarm LED is ON, the alarm status can be
cleared at any time by pressing the RESET button, even
if the controller is set to AUTO-RESET (the AUTO-RESET
LED is ON).
Language
If you wish to select Spanish or French language
narration in the LCD window:
1. Press MENU until the LANGUAGE parameter is
presented.
2. EN (English) is default. ES is Spanish, FR is French.
3. Press SET a number of times until the desired
language is displayed.
Motor RPM
If you wish to view motor RPM, press the MENU
button a number of times until "RPM" appears. RPM is
displayed only in bar graph form. The display will revert
to the main screen after a few seconds.
When Does The Pump Stop Operating?
Pressure Set-Point/No Flow: The pump will stop
operating, the 'LINE' LED will turn orange, and "STBY"
(standby) will be displayed on the LCD, after the system
pressure is above the set pressure of the pump (50, 60
or 70 PSI) for 60 seconds and there is no flow. This is
normal operation.
Restart: A drop in pressure 5 psi below the starting
pressure set-point will cause the pump to restart and
the 'LINE' LED to turn green. The pump will continue to
operate until several seconds after:
• Outlet pressure reaches the set pressure of the pump
(50, 60 or 70 PSI), and
• The flow stops.
