DESCRIPTION
VIKING RescYou
PV9273, PV9274 and PV9275 are inflatable
TM
lifejackets tested and approved according to EN 12402-3
(automatic inflator) and EN 12402-6 (manual inflator).
PV9273 is further tested and approved according to 12401.
The lifejackets comply with PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and
are certified by Force Certification, Park Allé 345, DK-2605
Brøndby. When fully inflated the VIKING RescYou
provide a minimum buoyancy of 150 N and are intended
for persons weighing from 40 kg to over 100 kg with a chest
measure between 60 - 125 cm. The date of production and the
serial number can be found on the ID label on the buoyancy
compartment.
The VIKING RescYou
lifejackets are available with either
TM
automatic or manual Halkey Roberts or automatic Hammar
inflators. Please check which type of inflator your lifejacket
is equipped with. All types of inflators use a 34g or 35g CO
cylinder.

TRAINING BEFORE USE
Make yourself familiar with the functioning of the lifejacket
and test it in a swimming pool or in other safe conditions
before use. Inflate the lifejacket orally using the oral inflation
tube.
Wear your normal clothes when training. After testing the
buoyancy must be emptied thoroughly of air.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
A. PV9273 and PV9275
1. Put on the lifejacket as a jacket.
2. Close buckle.
3. Adjust waist strap.
4. Fasten the snap hook and adjust the crutch strap.
5. The lifejacket is automatically inflated when
immersed in water. If equipped with manual inflator
the lifejacket manually inflates by a strong pull of the
release handle.
B. PV9274
1. Put your left arm through the jackets at the strap.
Pull it over your head.
2. Close the buckle.
3. Adjust the waist strap.
4. Fasten the snap hook and adjust the crutch strap.
5. The lifejacket is automatically inflated when
immersed in water. If equipped with manual inflator
the lifejacket manually inflates by a strong pull of the
release handle.
Automatically inflated lifejackets can be inflated in three
different ways:
a: Automatic inflation:
The lifejacket inflates within approx. 5 seconds from
immersion into water.
b: Manual inflation:
The lifejacket inflates on a strong pull of the release
handle protruding from the right-hand side of the
protective cover.

WARNING: Although tested to stand excess pressure, do not
ever inflate the lifejacket by mouth prior to automatic or

manual inflation.
4.
Maintenance of your lifejacket as well as initial testing is
essential to your safety in case of an accident.
4.1
Atlantic

c: Oral inflation:
Open the protective cover and blow air into the oral
inflation tube placed on the left-hand side of the
buoyancy chamber.
Manually inflated lifejackets can be inflated in two
different ways:
a: Manual inflation:
The lifejacket inflates on a strong pull of the release
handle protruding from the right-hand side of the
protective cover.
b: Oral inflation:
Open the protective cover and blow air into the oral
inflation tube placed on the left-hand side of the
buoyancy chamber.
MAINTENANCE
Recreational use:
It is recommended that you hand in your lifejacket for
service every second year at a VIKING certified servicing
station.
Professional use:
It is recommended that you hand in your lifejacket for
service every year at a VIKING certified servicing station.

CHECKING BEFORE USE
Lifejacket with Halkey Roberts inflator
1. Check that the lifejacket is undamaged.
You may inflate the lifejacket by mouth.
Then repack it as described in Packing (4.3).
Note: Avoid activating the inflator.
2. Check oral inflation valve and tube.
3. Check whistle.
4. Check straps and buckles.
5. Open the protective cover at its right side and check
the inflator (see sketch).
Automatic inflator:
a:
The green indicator must be visible.
b:
The green indicator clip must be mounted on
the inflator.
c:
The lifejacket is to be equipped with a 34g or
35g CO
cylinder.
