1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. General
Amate Electroacústica, s.l. would like to thank you for your confidence in our SM
Series.
A gathered experience of more than 35 years in the design of acoustic cabinets and
amplifiers, together with the application of the most advanced analysis devices have
allowed the SM-12D8 become the optimal and ideal solution wherever a top-quality,
light and compact monitoring system is needed.
We suggest you to carefully read the following instructions in order to obtain the best
results in performance.
1.2. Features and presentation
SM-12D8
- Self-powered cabinet.
- 500W class D amplifier for the woofer.
- 60W class AB amplifier for the driver.
- 24dB/oct active crossovers and signal processing circuits.
- Independent clip limiters for each way.
- Electronically balanced inputs and outputs (XLR).
- 12" neodymium woofer (3" voice coil).
- Neodymium driver (1.7" titanium diaphragm).
- Birch plywood
- Black painted finish
- Black painted steel front grille with acoustically transparent foam.
2.SM-12D8
Ideal for high quality monitoring, the SM-12D8 features advanced loudspeaker
components powered by a 500W power amplifier module (woofer) and a 60W power
amplifier (driver) with dedicated on-board signal processing.
It comprises a 12" neodymium woofer (3" voice coil) for the low-mid frequencies and
a 1.7" titanium diaphragm neodymium driver for the high frequencies.
The net result is natural, top sound quality.
To facilitate multi-purpose use, a pole mount socket is included as standard.

2.1. Technical features

The SM-12D8 is a self-powered, two-way, full range cabinet containing one direct
radiating, bass reflex-loaded, 12" low frequency transducer and one 1.7" voice coil
diameter, titanium diaphragm compression driver coupled to an asymmetrical horn.
As a full range system, the frequency response is 60Hz-18kHz (+/- 3 dB) and the
usable bandwidth is 50Hz-19kHz (-10dB).
