Figure 1. Lightweight Headset with Swivel Boom Microphone
Description
General
IMPORTANT: The VOX feature must be turned off in the
Radio Service Software (RSS) for the RMN4016 Head-
set to operate with radios fitted with an internal VOX
capability.
The headset with swivel boom microphone (refer to
Figure 1) can be used to maintain privacy in two-way
radio conversations. This lightweight accessory is use-
ful when high noise levels prevent the operator from
hearing sound out of the radio speaker.
IMPORTANT: Trunked radios must use the RMN4016
Headset to utilize the In-Line PTT feature.
When the headset is connected to the radio, the internal
speaker in the radio is disabled and the receive audio is
switched to the earpiece.

Accessory Clamp
An accessory clamp is available for certain radios (see
your Motorola Solutions representative or dealer for
details). Although the headset functions fully without
this accessory clamp, the clamp prevents the headset
from being accidentally disconnected from the acces-
sory connector of the radio. Refer to the instructions
included with the appropriate accessory clamp kit on
how to attach properly.
Replacement Part
The foam windscreen for the microphone and the foam
earpad for the earpiece are available as a replacement
