Measuring transformer tong jaws
Record the current flowing through the conductor.
Observe the "+" and "-" marks on the flow jaws to determine the direction of current (only
DC measurements).
Open the tong jaws, clip them to a conductor and close them correctly. Make sure that there are
no foreign bodies in the connection gap.
Connections
Input: Input for accepting the red test lead for voltage, resistance and continuity measurements.
COM: Input for accepting the black test lead for voltage, resistance and continuity measurements.
Information about the measurement
To obtain the most accurate measurement possible, place the cable as exactly as possible in the
intersection of the markings between the tong jaws.
Accuracy:
(% of the read-off value + number of digits) at 18° to 28 °C (64° to 74 °F) and
rel. humidity < 75%.
