INSTRUCTIONS
Read thoroughly prior to installation and operation
WARNING
To guard against injury, basic safety precautions
should be observed including the following:

using this appliance.
1 DANGER - To avoid possible electric shock, special care should be taken since
water is employed in the use of pond equipment.
2 For each of the following situations, do not attempt repairs yourself; return the
appliance to an authorized Laguna dealer for service or discard the appliance.
A Do not immerse the product in water! If the product drops into water, DON'T
reach for it; first disconnect the appliance from the power supply and only
after doing so, remove the appliance from the water. Carefully examine the
appliance after installation. It should not be plugged if there is water on parts
not intended to be wet. If electrical components of the appliance get wet,
unplug the appliance immediately.
B Prior to installing the appliance, check that the quartz sleeve and the UV-C
lamp have not been damaged during transport, as the UV-C lamp and quartz
sleeve are made of glass. Handle them with care. Do not handle UV-C lamp
with bare hands as this will impede its performance.
3 This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
significantly impaired physical or mental capabilities, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
4 IMPORTANT: Always disconnect the appliance when not in use, before
adding or removing parts and before cleaning or re-lamping. Never yank the cord
and never lift the appliance by the cable.
5 This appliance contains a UV emitter lamp. Misuse or damage to the housing
may result in the escape of dangerous UV radiation. This may, even in small
doses cause harm to eyes and skin. Appliances that are obviously damaged
should not be operated.
WARNING
UV radiation is dangerous for the eyes and
skin. Do not operate the UV-C emitter outside of the appliance. Unintended
use of the appliance or damage to the housing may result in the escape of
dangerous UV radiation. UV radiation may, even in small doses, cause harm
to the eyes and skin.
6 THIS IS A UV STERILIZER/CLARIFIER FOR OUTDOOR PONDS. Do
not use the appliance for any purpose other than that for which it is intended.
• Do not use this appliance in swimming pools or other situations where
people are immersed. FOR OUTDOOR POND USE ONLY.
• This product is designed to work with water not exceeding a temperature of
35ºC (95ºF).

• Do not use this appliance with liquids other than fresh water. This appliance
has not been evaluated for use with salt water.
IMPORTANT: The maximum operating pressure is 0.1 MPa (1 bar).
7 Do not expose the product to temperature approaching 4ºC (39ºF) or below. In
winter, store indoors in a dry and heated location.
8 IMPORTANT: Electrical connection must be in accordance with data on the
rating label; the appliance can be operated only after having been correctly
installed. The electrical safety is guaranteed only when the item is connected to
a residual current device (RCD) or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) having
a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
9 It is recommended that this appliance not be used with an extension cord. If an
extension cord is necessary, check to be sure the connection is waterproof and
the extension cord is at least equivalent in rating as the power cord fitted to the
appliance. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
10 Never use the product without water circulating through the UV chamber.
11 TYPE "Z" connection power cord cannot be replaced. Do not operated this
appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug. If cord or plug is damaged, discard
appliance.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock – This appliance uses a
3-conductor cable and must be earthed. It is supplied with a grounding-type
attachment plug. To reduce the risk of electric shock, ensure that it is connected
only to a properly grounded
RCD or GFCI equipped receptacle or metal conduit to protect the cable. A 30mA
Residual Current Device (RCD) must be fitted to the main supply.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOR U.K.: IMPORTANT – This product is
supplied without plug and is designed to be permanently wired to the mains
supply; the connection must be made in a dry, weatherproof enclosure through
the use of a double pole switched spur which complies to BS3676 fitted with
a 3 amp fuse. The installation must conform to the regulations of the Local
Electricity Authority which could include the use of plastic or metal conduit to
protect the cable. A 30mA Residual Current Device (RCD) must be fitted to the
mains supply.
IMPORTANT – The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with
the following code:
BROWN-UVE • BLUE-NEUTRAL • GREEN/YELLOW-EARTH
• The Brown lead should be connected to the plug terminal, which may be
marked with an 'L' or coloured brown or red.
• The Blue lead should be connected to the Neutral terminal, which may be
marked with an 'N' or coloured blue or black.
• The Green/Yellow lead should be connected to the Earth terminal which
may be marked with an 'E' or coloured green or yellow.
• The cord should be protected from abrasion, cuts or any other damage.
• The socket must be positioned in a dry and protected place.
