WARNING!! DANGER OF BURNS:
The surfaces around the slots become very hot during use of the toaster. Handle
all the hot surfaces of the toaster using handles, knobs or heat-resistant gloves;
in particular the grill.
Considering the different legislations, if the toaster is to be used in a country
different from the one where it was purchased, consulting an authorised service
centre is recommended. Ensure that the plug complies with the legislation in
force and it is able to support the power of the device.
Always connect the device to a socket with an earth.
Use an extension in good condition with a plug with an earth and live wire of a
section and length equal to that supplied. The toaster must always be in a vertical
position, never on its side or inclined or upside down. Before use, check that the
crumb tray is in position. In the event of abnormal functioning, disconnect the
device. If there are little pieces of bread left between the grills at the end of use,
disconnect the toaster and let it cool before removing them. Use a stable work top
away from water splashes that is not in an alcove in the kitchen. Avoid putting the
cable or plug between the grills of the device. Do not unplug the toaster by pulling
the cable. Avoid moving the device while it is in use. Never use the device without
checking it first, particularly before every first piece of toast or after changing
the setting. Only use the toaster exclusively for the purpose it was intended for.
Do not touch the metal or hot parts when the device is operating. To avoid any
danger, do not add accessories to the toaster that are not recommended by the
manufacturer.
Do not use the device if:
- the cable is faulty,
- it shows visible damage or signs of malfunction after falling or being dropped.
For all these cases, and to avoid any danger, we advise taking the toaster to the
shopkeeper (see guarantee).
Do not put the toaster on hot surfaces or in contact with sources of heat.
Do not use the toaster as a source of heat or for drying.
Your toaster is made of different materials that can be recycled.
The electrical cable is short to reduce the risk of it becoming tangled with things
and people and to stop it wrapping round longer cables.
Long detachable cables or extensions are available and can only be used if strict
safety criteria are followed by authorised electricians. Do not use adapters or
reducers. If a long electric cable or extension is used, it must have the following
features:
• the electrical cable or extension must have at least the same technical features
as those of the toaster specified on the label under the machine.
• The extension must be of the type with an earth and so have three wires/poles.
In any case, a long cable or extension must not project from furniture, the table
12
or shelves so that it can be touched/pulled by children.
Do not put the toaster over or near a hot oven, hob-top or hot plate.
Do not use in the open air. Do not leave the cable hanging from the corners of the
table or work-surface, or touch hot surfaces.
Do not handle the device with damaged cables or plugs or after it has not worked
properly or has been damaged in any way. We advise putting the toaster on flat
surface in a hygienic, well-lit room with an easily accessible electric socket for the
correct operation of the toaster. Keep the toaster at least 10 cm from the walls.
Never touch the toaster for any reason with wet/damp hands or a wet/damp
cloth. Always disconnect the device when it is not in use and before cleaning it.
WARNING!! DANGER OF FIRE
Do not cover the device while in operation or immediately afterwards. Let it cool
if you wish to cover the equipment.
As bread may sometimes burn, do not install the device or use it near to curtains
or other inflammable material (shelves, furniture, etc.).
Never put paper, cardboard or plastic inside, over or under the device.
If a part of the toaster catches fire, never try to put the fire out with water.
Disconnect it and put the the flames out with a damp cloth.
Instructions for use:
1. After removing the toaster from its packaging, ensure that it is in perfect
condition and check carefully that no type of material, pieces of packaging
or guarantee leaflet, etc., have fallen inside accidentally during transport and
opening the packaging. The plastic bag containing the toaster must be kept
out of the reach of children. If swallowed it can cause suffocation. Use a soft,
dry cloth to remove any dust that may have accumulated on the toaster. After
making the above checks and carefully following the safety regulations, plug
the toaster into the electricity supply.
2. Follow the safety regulations carefully for the connection to the electricity
supply. The toaster must be connected via the power supply cable to a socket
where the voltage corresponds to that shown under the machine. Ensure that
your electricity socket has an earth. Never use faulty or damaged electricity
supply cables. Only use an extension after checking that it is in perfect
condition. Never bring the live parts into contact with water - a short circuit
may occur!!!
Respect all the points of the above safety regulations scrupulously. The toaster
may emit a strong smell or slight smoke the first time it is used. Operate it once
or twice without bread to eliminate the smell and any residues. This is a normal
result of the production process. The smell and slight smoke are innocuous and
inoffensive and will quickly disappear after the first use.
