4. Special conditions for use (X conditions)
1) The thermometers shall be fitted to Ex d certified enclosures series 1/4000 F,
series 7/8000 or series 5/6000, manufactured by WIKA. Alternatively, the thermometers

shall be fitted to other certified enclosures as listed in the "WIKA ATEX and IECEx Ex d
enclosure and device list" (article no.: 14405410.01)
2) A prohibited heat reflow from the process has to be prevented for instance by heat
insulation or using an extended neck tube. A prohibited heat reflow occurs if the heat out
of the process exceeds the service temperature of the enclosure or the temperature class.
3) The widths of the flameproof joint of this apparatus are in parts longer and its gaps are
in parts smaller than required by Table 3 of IEC 60079-1:2014.
4) The conditions for safe use and the installation instructions listed in the certificate of the
equipment (transmitter) and empty enclosures must be carefully observed, too.
