Warning, instructions for use
• Read the instructions before operating the AUTOMATIC
V4 - 9/13 welding helmet.
• This helmet is not designed for laser cutting or gas
welding.
• This helmet is designed to protect your eyes and face
from sparks, spatter, and harmful IR and UV radiation.
This helmet will not protect you from explosive devises
or corrosive liquids.
• Never operate this helmet without lens cover properly
installed.
• Keep front lens cover and light sensors clean for proper
operation.
• Replace auto darkening lens if it is cracked, scratched or
pitted to avoid serious personal injury.
• Use only replacement parts specified in this manual.
• Charging of battery: The auto-darking lens AUTOMATIC
V4 - 9/13 contains 2 AAA/LR03/1,5V batteries.
Welding with
the AUTOMATIC V4 - 9/13 helmet
The AUTOMATIC V4 - 9/13 welding helmet will
automatically change from a light state (4) to a dark state
(9-13) when the welding arc starts.
The lens automatically returns to a light state when the arc
stops.
Fine adjustments can be made while welding.
Increased welding productivity and quality because hands
are free at all times.
Protects from harmful UV and IR radiation at all times, in
darkened or clear state.
The lens contains two sensors to detect the light from the
welding arc and darken the lens.
The solar panel extends the life of the alkaline battery.
Maintenance of
your AUTOMATIC V4 - 9/13 helmet
• Do not use or open the shade cartridge if damaged by
shock, vibration or pressure.
• Keep the sensors and solar cell clean. Clean the
cartridge using a neutral soap and soft cloth which
should be damp and not saturated.
• Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning detergent.

Instructions for use
Adjustment of the helmet for maximum
comfort
• Before using properly adjust your helmet for maximum
comfort and protection. There are four adjustments that
can be made to the headgear of the AUTOMATIC V4 -
9/13 helmet.
1. Headgear Top: Adjust headgear for proper depth of the
head to ensure balance and stability.
2. Headgear tight ness: to adjust, turn knob located on the
back of the headgear left or right to desired tightness.
3. Distance adjustment: adjusts the distance between the
face and the lens. To adjust, loosen both outside
tension knobs and slide forward or back to desired
position and retighten. Be sure each side is adjusted
equally.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
ON /Auto-Off Button
Locate the ON button and press ON to weld, the lens will
automatically darken twice and then return to the light
state, the helmet is then ready to weld.
Note: The lens will Auto-Off (clear state, N°4) after
15-20 minutes after the last arc. It will be necessary to
press the ON button to resume welding.

Variable Shade Control (N°9 - N°13)
Use the shade chart below to select proper shade control
setting based on your welding process.
We recommend starting at shades 12 or 13 and adjust
lighter based on the welding application and personal
preference.
