SAFETY NOTES
•
IMPORTANT! Always close/put down
the parasol when not in use. Do not use
or assemble the parasol in heavy winds,
rain, thunderstorms or if it's snowing.
In these weather conditions, we
recommend to fold down or disassemble
the parasol. Disassemble by following
the setup steps in reverse.
IMPORTANT! The parasol must be
•
secured in place on the ground with
SVARTÖ parasol base, sold separately,
or with 4 slabs of concrete, cement or
similar material. Recommended size of
the slabs is 50x50 cm (about 20x20")
with a total weight of min. 90 kg (199
lb). Slabs are not included but are
available at a DIY store. Make sure the
ground is level and firm. Distribute the
slabs around the cross brace as shown
in the assembly instructions.
•
Assemble the parasol by following the
assembly instructions carefully.
•
Do not assemble the parasol on sandy,
muddy or loose soil.
•
Keep children and pets away while
setting up the parasol.
•
Children must be supervised around the
parasol.
•
This parasol is for outdoor use only.
•
Do not light any fires under or near the
parasol!
•
This product has been tested for
domestic use.
•
This parasol is primarily intended to be
used as a sunshade and not as wind
protection.
Hold immediately if the crank or handle
operation becomes heavy. Ensure that
you are turning the crank or handle in the
correct direction. If your parasol has a
crank, always ensure to open the parasol
clockwise, never try to open it by turning
the crank handle counterclockwise.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To clean the fabric, fold down the parasol
and wipe it with a soft cloth dampened in
water. For heavily soiled areas, scrub with a
sponge soaked in mild detergent and rinse
with cold water.
Never use solvent-based detergents since
these may bleach the material and damage
the fabric. Also, do not use any alkali or
acidic detergents or steam blasters to clean
the parasol.
To clean the parasol frame, wipe it with a
mild soapy solution. It is not recommended
to clean plastic or metal products with a
strong cleaner or an abrasive material since
it may discolour or damage the surface.
Repair: The parasol frame is painted with a
powder coating of plastic paint. If for some
reason the coating comes off, the parasol
frame is not protected and this may result in
rust. To repair the damage, wipe clean and
repaint to restore the protection.
STORAGE
We recommend that you close the parasol
when not in use and put a waterproof cover
on it. Before putting the cover on, please
make sure that your parasol is completely
dry and clean. During the off-season, store
the covered parasol in a cool and dry place
indoors.
DISPOSAL
If you wish to dispose of the parasol,
do not throw it in the trash. Take it to a
recycling centre. There, recyclable materials
and other materials can be disposed of
safely. Ask your local IKEA store or your
local authority where a recycling location
is in your area. Dispose of the packaging
materials in the provided collection
containers.
