CCTV Colour Camera
GB
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to installing the unit and keep them for later use.
1 Applications
This high-resolution CCTV colour camera is specially
designed for application in video surveillance systems.
It is weatherproof (IP 67) and therefore also suitable
for outdoor use.
The camera is equipped with a zoom lens provided
with a DC-controlled iris (DC lens). To obtain an opti-
mum colour quality in daylight, an IR suppression filter
is placed in front of the lens. For night operation, the
filter is moved aside, the 16 infrared LEDs light up, and
the camera switches to black-and-white operation.
2 Safety Notes
The camera corresponds to all required directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
G
Protect the camera against extreme temperatures
(admissible ambient temperature range -10 °C to
+50 °C).
G
The camera housing is weatherproof, however, not
absolutely watertight. Therefore, do not immerse the
camera in water.
G
Never use aggressive detergents or chemicals for
cleaning the camera.
G
No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material dam -
age will be accepted if the camera is used for other
purposes than originally intended, if it is not correct-
ly mounted or connected or not repaired in an expert
way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
3 Operation
3.1 Mounting
Mount the camera with its bracket at a suitable place.
For outdoor mounting to a wall the cable inlet of the
bracket must point downwards so that no precipitation
may penetrate the bracket. The exact alignment of the
camera can only be made after the electric connec-
tion.
3.2 Electrical connection
Important! The inline jacks (2, 3) for connection and
the cable distributor (1) are not weatherproof. For
outdoor installation, they must be protected corres-
pondingly.
1) Connect the yellow BNC jack (2) via a screened
cable to the video input of a monitor. With a cable

length exceeding 100 m, a video amplifier should
be inserted between the camera and the cable to
compensate cable loss.
2) Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit with a
minimum permanent current rating of 350 mA (e. g.
MONACOR PS-500ST) to the red low-voltage in -
line jack (3). A low-voltage plug 5.5/2.1 mm (out -
side/inside diameter) is required. Always observe
the correct polarity: Connect the positive pole to the
inner contact of the plug.
3.3 Adjusting the camera, lens, and
switch-on threshold for night operation
1) For adjusting the camera to the surveillance zone,
switch on the monitor. Release the locking screws
(4, 5) of the bracket and align the camera. Then
retighten the screws.
2) For horizontal presentation of the camera picture
on the monitor, release the counternut (6), turn the
camera housing correspondingly, and retighten the
nut.
.
3) To be able to adjust the lens, the housing sleeve
(12) must be screwed off.
4) With the zoom adjusting ring (9) adjust the picture
detail, then adjust a clear picture with the focus set-
t ing ring (10). The corresponding adjusting lever is
a locking screw at the same time which must be
released prior to adjustment and retightened after
adjustment.
5) If the picture on the monitor should be too bright or
too dark despite an optimum illumination, the trim-
ming potentiometer (8) allows to generally open or
close the iris further.
6) The switch-on threshold for night operation can be
changed with the trimming potentiometer (11). If it
is turned to the left, the camera is switched to night
operation earlier (while the ambient light is still
sufficient). If it is turned to the right, the camera is
switched later (only with very low ambient light).
3.4 Functions TERM, FLK, BLC, and AWB
With the DIP switches (7), the camera is preset as fol-
lows:
Switch 1 = short time constant for the day/ night
switching (TERM)
Switch 2 = flicker compensation (FLK) deactivated
Switch 3 = backlight compensation (BLC) activated
Switch 4 = automatic white balance,
mode AWB = control range from 2000 K to
18 000 K
1) If unfavourable lighting conditions should cause
permanent automatic day/ night switching, switch
to long time constant (LONG) with the DIP switch 1
(TERM).
2) Active the flicker compensation (FLK) if flickering
occurs due to light sources operated with an AC
voltage of 50 Hz.
3) Deactivate the backlight compensation (BLC) if it
improves the picture and if there is no backlight.

4) The automatic white balance is set to the mode
AWB which covers a control range of 2000 K to
18 000 K. If this adjustment should not offer a faith -
ful colour reproduction, switch to the mode ATW.
The control range will then cover 2500 K to 9500 K.

5) After all adjustments have been made, close the
camera. Pay attention to the correct position of the
sealing ring so that the housing is weather-protect -
ed again.
6) Finally place the sunshield.
