Bumper Beam

1. Remove taillight plastic panel – Open tailgate. Using plastic trim tools, remove plastic panel near taillights, both sides.
2. Remove taillights – Using a T25 torxbit, remove (2) screws behind the panel, both sides. Remove taillights by gently pulling rearward and unclipping wiring harness.
3. Loosen wheel well liner – Using a T25 torxbit remove (1) vertical screw from the bottom of wheel well liner, (3) horizontal screws from the side wheel well liner, and (1)
vertical screw in the upper edge behind wheel well liner, both sides.
4. Loosen lower fascia – Using a T15 torxbit, remove (3) rivets from bottom lower fascia.
5. Remove bumper fascia – Using plastic trim tools, remove the fascia starting at the outer edges near wheel wells while gently pulling the fascia.
6. Remove bumper beam – Using 13 mm socket, remove (6) M8 factory bolts from bumper beam, (3) per side, return to vehicle owner, see figure 1. Remove bumper
beam and foam cover on the top of bumper beam. Return foam cover to vehicle owner.
7. Apply sealant - apply silicone sealant to both hitch bracket mounting surfaces, see Figure 2.
8. Install hitch – Using hammer, flatten hook tabs behind bumper plates. Align bumper beam with hitch on the floor. Raise the hitch and bumper beam into position
aligning holes on the end panel. Loosely install (6) M8 bolts ①, (6) 5/16'' lock and flat washers ②③ to the bumper beam and hitch, see Figure 1.
9. Tighten all M8x1.25x40 CL8.8 fasteners with torque wrench to 20 ft -lb (27 N*m).
10. Trim lower fascia –Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, measure, mark, and trim the lower fascia as shown in Figure 3.
11. Reinstall all fasteners, fascia, wiring harness, wheel well liners, and taillights.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
