Ensuring the device and sensor settings:
■
Set the highest sensitivity level.
■
Open the test agent bottle and bring this slowly close to the sensor tip.
■
When the LED display changes from low to high, you can remove the bottle and close it. The LED
display must then go off. This is an indication that the device has been correctly.
■
In case the device does not work as described above it has to be sent to your supplier for check-up.
Information for the leak detection:
Run the measuring tip of the leak detector as close as possible to the location where you assume the
leakage. Please make sure however to keep a distance of approx. 5mm. Then run the sensor tip slowly
along the cooling agent pipes. When the device has detected a leakage you will hear a warning tone and
the LEDs will be illuminated from left to right. From green to orange and then to red, depending on the
size of the leakage. When the unit displays the highest concentration you will have found the point of the
leakage.
To get a confirmation for the leakage, remove the measuring tip from the detected leakage and then put
it back to it. The warning signal and the illumination of the LEDs have to be reproduced. In case of a
bigger leakage you should do the leak detection in the LOW position and then change later, if necessary
to the HIGH position.
After having finished the leak detection, put the unit back in place into the carrying box.
Exchanging the sensor:
( sensor protector = sensor protective cover )
The sensor is a consumable item with a limited durability
of approx.. 1 year.
High cooling agent concentrations can have a negative
influence on the durability of the sensor.
Always make sure that the surface of the sensor is free of
all kinds of pollution. Any kind of contamination or water
droplets should be removed with a clean cloth.
Warning:
If you want to exchange the sensor, the old sensor might still be hot. Switch off the device and
wait a reasonable time.
1.) remove the protective cover from the sensor tip.
2.) remove the old sensor from the holder and put the new sensor carefully into place into the holder
provided.
3.) slide the protective cover back over the sensor.
Cleaning of the device:
The plastic housing of the leak detector can be cleaned with a clean, damp cloth and normal cleaners,
but not with too strong or caustic household cleaners.
Note:
The sensor must not be cleaned with a household cleaner or with alcohol, but only with a cloth.
