Accumulator Installation
1. Using the proper refrigerant oil, lubricate and install the new piping O-rings onto the
hoses/tubes being installed on the accumulator or to the hose/tube connectors on the
accumulator assembly.
2. Remove the protective caps and add the amount of refrigerant oil equal to the amount
removed from the original accumulator plus an additional 60 cc (2 fl. oz.) of the proper
refrigerant oil to the "OUT" side of the accumulator.
CAUTION: Refer to the vehicle manufacturer's service manual for proper refrigerant oil.
3. Install the accumulator into the holder and position it as the previous unit, then hand
tighten the securing hardware.
4. Temporarily install the inlet and outlet hose/tube connectors on the accumulator or other
hose/tube connectors on the accumulator assembly and hand tighten the fasteners. Do
not fully tighten. The inlet connection at the accumulator will be attached to the hose/tube
leading from the evaporator.
5. Tighten the retaining hardware securing the accumulator in its holder.
6. Tighten and torque the hose/tube fasteners.
NOTE: Refer to the vehicle manufacturer's service manual for proper torque specifications.
