5.1
Igniting the flame
Caution / risk of burning!
When igniting the burner, turn the mixing tube away from the user and other objects.
Keep your distance!
The flame could be big, depending on the position of the gas valve!
⇒ Open the gas shut-off valve at the laboratory workbench (gas isolation valve).
⇒ Open the gas valve (3) to approx. 1 turn.
⇒ Press the actuation knob (6) in, so that you can hear the gas flowing.
⇒ Ignite the flame immediately!
⇒ After igniting the flame, keep the actuation knob pressed for another 10 seconds until the flame is
burning independently. If the flame goes out, repeat the procedure.
The burner is now ready for use.

The size of the flame can be slightly adjusted by opening / closing the gas valve (3).
6. Cleaning / Maintenance
6.1
Cleaning
Caution:
Never clean the burner by boiling or steam cleaning!
Never use acetone when cleaning!
Do not blow compressed air into the hose connection or the mixing tube on the burner! This
could damage the safety valve.
Only the following parts may be cleaned with boiling water or steam cleaner once they have
been dismantled:
► Mixing tube (1, Fig. 1)
► Sensor holder (8, Fig. 1)
► Collection pan (7, Fig. 1)
When cleaning the external parts, please observe the following points:
• Only clean the burner once it is completely cool.
• Before cleaning, close the gas shut-off valve at the laboratory workbench (gas isolation valve).
• Do not use chemicals for cleaning.
• Never drill or unscrew the burner nozzle.
• The maximum cleaning temperature is 50 ºC (122 ºF).

Collection pan
(only 934 0100 and 935 0100)
The collection pan (7, Fig. 1) can be disassembled for cleaning.

Soft flame:
turn the knurled nut (4) in an upward direction (air supply reduced).
Strong flame: the knurled nut (4) in a downward direction (air supply increased).
