The products described here were developed to assume safety-related functions within a system or machine. A complete

The AS-Interface safety module is used for the recording of safety-relevant switching states (e.g. of 1-channel or 2-channel
EMERGENCY STOP control devices, position switches or door contacts with floating contact elements) For this purpose, an
8 x 4 bit code table is transmitted via the AS-Interface bus, which is evaluated by the safety monitor. If the system is operated
accordingly, safety category 4 and Performance Level e according to EN ISO 13849-1 and/or SILCL / SIL 3 according
EN 62061 / IEC 61508 can be reached. If the system structure is as specified and only a 1-channel end switch is connected
(channel 2 bridged using 3RK1901-1AA00 jumper plug), the system reaches max. safety category 2 and Performance Level
d according to EN ISO 13849-1 and/or SILCL / SIL 2 according to EN 62061 / IEC 61508! The PFD/PFH value of the com-
plete loop must be calculated by the user. The PFD/PFH value of the module is of little importance for the PFD/PFH value of
the entire system consisting of the AS-Interface bus and the safety monitor.
The instructions in the Safety Integrated Manual and the operating instructions for the safety monitor must be
observed!
