HEINE 3S LED HeadLight
Before using the HEINE 3S LED HeadLight
!
instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place for future
reference.
In accordance with local regulations this product
should be disposed of as an electronic device separately.
Safety Information
Range of Applications: The HEINE 3S LED HeadLight
examination and during treatment.
General Safety: For applications of the HEINE 3S LED HeadLight
medicine: A yellow filter can be used to avoid premature hardening of composite
material.
Do not shine the light directly into the patient's eyes.
Never ever hold magnifying glasses or any other optical system in front of
the light.
Safety in use: The performance of this unit can only be guaranteed if
genuine HEINE Accessories and Spare Parts are used.
Ensure that the headband power cord is located in the clips provided.
The headlight body should not be left covered with a cloth or similar.
Do not use the HEINE plug-in transformer for 3S LED (X-095.16.320) to
power any other bulb-type HEINE instrument.
Installation and operation
Attaching the Brightness control:
The brightness control (2) can be mounted on the left or right side of the
headband. (Please refer to the enclosed assembly instructions.) The brightness
can be continuously controlled by the brightness control (2).
Setting up:
To set up the HEINE 3S LED HeadLight
connect the short cord from the brightness control with the connecting cord
mPack UNPLUGGED/Cinch and fix this to the back part of the headband (Fig. A).
Connect the instrument to the Cinch-socket of the HEINE mPack
EN50
and select the brightness by means of the brightness control.

To use the HEINE 3S LED HeadLight
remove the rear cover of the headband (Fig.B).
Then attach the mPack UNPLUGGED to the rear of the headband. To do so,
hold the headband in your left hand and push the mPack UNPLUGGED to the
left, until it clicks into place (Fig.C).
Note: We recommend that the mPack brightness control is switched off when
used the 3S LED HeadLight.
Selecting viewing angle and field of view
Without HEINE S-Guard
Loosen the fixing screw (6) to adjust the light head up and down and backwards
or forwards.
After adjustment, re-tighten the screw (6).
With HEINE S-Guard
– Before putting on the loupes, select your inter-pupillary distance (PD) or an
average value on the scale. Unscrew the retaining screw (8) and slide the
eyepieces to one side symmetrically.
– Unscrew the fixing screw (6) and locate the nosepad on the bridge of the nose.
– Adjust the eyepieces so that they nearly touch the protective lenses.
– Shine the 3S LED onto an object at your normal working distance and adjust
the eyepieces so that the object is centred in both eyepieces. After adjust-
ment, re-tighten the screw (6).
The loupes are correctly adjusted when you see a clearly-defined, round,
shadow-free field of view.
The illuminated field of view can be selected by means of the slide control (7).
Fitting HEINE binocular loupes and a video camera: Use the appropriate
adaptor, which is available as an accessory.
Cleaning
Use a micro-fiber cloth to clean the lens. The instrument housing can be
cleaned with a soft cloth moistened with alcohol or a non-aggressive
dis infectant solution. Do not soak or spray with disinfectant.
