Only close observance of the instructions laid out in this booklet can guarantee, perfect service and
safe use of AC respirators.
SPASCIANI S.p.A. and its appointed agents take no responsibility for damages which may occur due
to incorrect or inappropriate use of respirators nor following maintenance carried out by un-authorised
people.
Breathing protectors must always be used by trained people under the supervision of personnel well
aware of the limits of application and of the laws in being.

GENERAL
The air line respirators are efficient protective devices for respiratory organs in many industrial processes. In
some cases they also specifically protect some parts of the body more likely to be exposed to the mechani-
cal action of the abrasive blast (ACS) or to contact with chemical substances.
The weight reduced to a minimum, considering the protection and the durability required, and the ergonomic
design make these apparatus easy to use and comfortable to wear.
The respirators must be fed with breathable air according to EN12021, the feeding pressure shall be between
5 and 6 bar and the minimum flow for every operator shall be of 250 l/min.
When feeding air line breathing apparatus, the use of big factory multi-purpose compressors should be avoid-
ed: not only is the air hot and oily, but it can also carry gases originated by the combustion of lubricant.
We therefore suggest to set up a small, independent system with suitable filtering units, to supply compressed
air at approx. 5 to 6 bar via suitable pressure reducer.
Air line respirators type ACS 952 and AC 190 are
Standard EN14594 and as follows classified: ACS 952-EN14594 - CL.4B / AC 190 - EN14594 - CL. 4 B.
ACS 951 respirator, which is provided with a hybrid full face mask / hood, is
directly against the essential health & safety requirements of the annex II of the PPE directive 89/686/CEE;
EN14594 (class B) standard being anyway partially used for the certification wherever applicable.
Just after the flow regulator AC 95, the filter silencer EOD 55, reduces the noise generated by the airflow and
at the same time retains any odours and fine particles that may be present in the air.
SPASCIANI S.p.A. supplies a filtering unit that can be wall-mounted or transportable. This is made of a pres-
sure reducer, a coalescing filter that retains droplets and a carbon filter that absorbs oil vapours.
The use of this unit does not avoid the need for EOD 55 filter.

LIMITS OF APPLICATION
• The hood of ACS 951 and the mask TR 82 or TR 2002 of AC 190 allow the use of a safety helmet worn
outside, if head protection is required.
• ACS 951 hood, made of fabric and plastic material, is not designed to protect from chemicals and shall be used
only to protect from the projection of abrasive particles in sandblasting, scraping and grinding operations.
• The ACS 951 face piece is a full face mask / hood hybrid that should be used only where the workplace
conditions (access, position or ergonomy) do not allow the use of ACS 952 or AC 190.
• ACS 951 and AC 190 respirators are not suitable for bearded persons, since the beard impedes the tight-
ness of the mask on the face.
• ACS 951 and AC 190 respirators cannot be used by persons wearing side arm spectacles. With AC 190,
though, it is possible to fit special frames for prescriptions lenses into the mask.
• The ACS 952 hood is not designed to protect the head, with the exception of minor impacts.
• ACS 952 as far as the visor is concerned, exceeds the requirement of EN166 (Par. 7.2.2) for high impact
resistance (120 m/sec).
