5. Clean the thermometer's lens after each use. In order to ensure the accu-
racy of the reading, wait at least 10 minutes before performing another
measurement.
Press the power button. The thermometer will carry out a
self-test and all the symbols will simultaneously appear on
the display.
An acoustic signal will sound and the screen will display the
symbols shown in the figure. Make sure that the thermom-
eter is set to forehead measurement mode " ".
Hold down the "SCAN" button to perform the measure-
ment. The "measurement in progress""
appear on the display.
Holding down the "SCAN" button, point the infrared sen-
sor to the centre of the forehead. The proper distance posi-
tion is indicated by the proximity light turning on and by
the sounding of a continuous intermittent acoustic signal.
Release the "SCAN" button. After about one second, an
acoustic "beep" will sound, indicating that the temperature
has been measured. At this point, the reading will appear
on the display.
FEVER CHECK
< 38°C/100.4°F = for temperatures below 38°C/100.4°F,
the screen will display a smiley face symbol
≥ 38°C/100.4°F = for temperatures above or equal to
38°C/100.4°F, the screen will display a sad face symbol,
followed by three beeps
After 30 seconds, the thermometer will emit an acoustic
signal and will automatically shut itself off.
